When is Emory Day of Giving?
The 36-hours of collective giving officially kicks off at 6 a.m. EDT Wednesday, March 25, and continues through 6 p.m. EDT Thursday, March 26. 

Why should I give to Emory?
From contributing to student scholarships and strengthening academic programs to funding transformational research and supporting innovative patient care, you can make an immediate and lasting difference for Emory.

Why should I give during Emory Day of Giving?
Because your gift can have a greater impact than any other day of the year! Thanks to a group of generous supporters providing match and challenge funds, your gift could be doubled or be the one that unlocks bonus dollars for your favorite Emory fund. Throughout the day, leaderboards will show progress in real-time, and challenges will enhance the fun and anticipation!

I made a gift earlier this year. Will that count?
If you have already given to Emory this year, thank you for your gift! We encourage you to participate in Emory Day of Giving and support the areas you love with an additional gift.

Is it possible to make a gift by phone or mail?
Because Emory Day of Giving is a time limited giving campaign, we strongly encourage you to make your gift online at dayofgiving.emory.edu. This is the only way to ensure your gift will qualify for matches and challenges that are taking place throughout the campaign. Gifts via mail must be received by March 24 and use a remit form or reference Emory Day of Giving. Mailed gifts received after March 25 will count toward final campaign totals, but we cannot guarantee they will be processed in time to be uploaded to dayofgiving.emory.edu. To give by phone, you may call 404.712.GIVE (4483) from 8 a.m. - 6 p.m. EDT on March 25 and 26.

Can my request for an IRA rollover, Donor Advised Fund (DAF) distribution, or stock transfer count in Emory Day of Giving?
We are excited to offer DAFpay as a new payment option on our giving day site this year! With DAFpay, donors can now contribute directly from their DAF accounts to our campaign in just three clicks! Our team will need to continue to manually book your offline IRA rollover or stock transfer gift on the site. In order to take advantage of this, or if you have DAFpay questions, please email annualgiving@emory.edu.

Why should I volunteer?
All volunteers who verify their GiveCampus account and bring in 1+ gift during Emory Day of Giving will earn a limited-edition Emory friendship bracelet! You can also help your area earn bonus dollars by competing in leaderboards just for Advancement Volunteers.  

What are matches, challenges, and leaderboards?
Matches double your online gift to a specific fund within a school, unit, or program area. Challenges unlock bonus dollars when a goal is met. Leaderboards rank participating groups based on certain criteria, with the top areas earning bonus dollars.

Donors can make as many gifts as they would like throughout the event using their own personal information. Certain activity, including but not limited to falsifying donor names and completing transactions with a card for which you are not the legal holder, may result in disqualification from leaderboards and challenges or your gift being refunded. Emory will review competitions before announcing winners to ensure accuracy. This process make take several weeks after our give day, and we appreciate your patience so we may ensure fairness.

What if I don't see my area of interest in the participating groups?
On the donation page, select "Other/Write-In" in the Designation drop down menu, and type in the program and/or fund name you wish to support (i.e. Biology Department, Cardiology, etc.). We will ensure your gift is designated appropriately.

Are gifts tax-deductible?
All gifts are tax deductible to the extent provided by law. Once you complete your gift transaction, you will receive an email confirmation. This will serve as your official gift acknowledgement and tax receipt from Emory University.

How can I make my donation go even further?
Thousands of companies match gifts to higher education, which can double or triple your gift. To find out if your employer (or your spouse's employer) has a matching gift program, visit https://giving.emory.edu/pages/matching-gift. If so, please contact your Human Resources representative for a matching gift form. You may need to provide Emory's Employer Identification Number (EIN) on the form, which is 58-0566256. Please note matching gifts often take several months to process, thus they do not count in the Emory Day of Giving 36-hour campaign.
